A Faith for Today
The Christian faith today is under threat intellectually by the aggressive atheism of Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens, and by secular materialism which seems to have no place for God.
As some Christians respond by retrenching into ever more conservative expressions of belief, while others appear to fall off the liberal end of belief itself, others are asking what the fundamental essence of our faith is anyway.
Come for a weekend at the Windermere Centre led by Lawrence Moore and Howard Sharp (the Mersey Synod Moderator) to explore questions about how to read the Bible, what faith actually is, how to think of Jesus and to understand what Jesus meant when he talked about the need to be ‘born again’.
30 August – 1 September. Cost: £130 Full board; £86 day visitor (inc all meals)
